The contractor licensing will make significant changes in the construction industry. From terminology to permitting to contracts. This town hall meeting will include an explanation on the status of the licensing law which goes into effect on July 1, how it will impact your business and what the NKBA is doing to help its members. The NKBA will be presenting a new specialty contractor exception to the licensing board for approval will be discussed at this meeting. Comments will be welcomed in this forum before the final proposal is finalized and submitted to the board on behalf of the NKBA.
Speaker: Kevin Veler is an Alpharetta attorney practicing in the business and construction area. He has been very active in contractor licensing, attends most of the state licensing board meeting, has participated in amending the law and the rules. He is the former legal counsel for NARI Atlanta and has represented both NARI and the APSP before the board. He has been retained by the NKBA to assist with the presentation of this important exception.
